TUSCALOOSA -- Winds up to 300 miles an hour, a 4 mile path of destruction up to half a mile wide, and at least 36 dead. These are just numbers from Tuscaloosa. The emotion of the story lives in the destruction.

"He just turned 23," Nancy Atteron said, as she choked back the tears, looking at what was left of the house where he young son's life was ripped from her.

23 year old Scott Atterton and his two roommates were home when the tornado touched down. It ripped the house from the foundation and threw the roommates about 20 yards away.  All three University of Alabama students died.

Scott Atteron was a double history major and was going to become a teacher and..

"He was my best friend," Nancy said. Then she turned and stared at the spot, where her son's life, ended.

What do you say to a mother who loses a child?

In time many of us will forget the tornado that touched down in Tuscaloosa.

Nancy Atteron will not.
