MARIETTA, Ga. -- Residents in Marietta are on high alert this week, after an elderly couple was burglarized by three white men on Monday morning.

An elderly Marietta man was approached in his driveway by someone with a slick story.

The stranger was posing as a landscaper who wanted to check the property line. The unidentified man convinced the homeowner to go the backyard with him, while two other men slipped into the house.

"And then all of a sudden from the house door my wife came out and said we were robbed," said the elderly man, who did not want to be identified.

His wife, who was inside, surprised the men but not before they were able to steal some silverware.

Police are looking for 3 white males between 35 and 40 years old, clean shaven, wearing Khaki pants and polo shirts.

You are advised to be wary of people posing as workers. Police say to keep your doors locked and shut, and to talk to strangers through the door.  If you are suspicious, you are advised to call 911.
