As a general assignment reporter for more than 8 years at 11Alive News I've had the pleasure of covering a variety of stories and meeting people from virtually all walks of life.
I particularly enjoy being "out in the field", doing live shots on everything from extreme weather to a city council meeting.
I spent three years at WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina as the crime reporter. Before that, I had the privelege to develop, executive produce and anchor the first ever morning show for KPVI-TV in Pocatello, Idaho.
While I hail from Southern California, I proudly now call Suwanee, Georgia my home and wouldn't dream of moving back to the west! You just can't beat the quality of life, various bodies of water, and vacations up and down the east coast and Caribbean.
I graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. And yes, I take a ribbing from coworkers about how much I could have really been studying given the school sits right above the beach in Malibu, CA.
Some of my favorite memories of doing this job for more than 17 years include riding out the eye of Hurricane Ivan in Mobile, AL, going undercover with federal drug agents, covering one of the first U.S trials with ties to terrorism and carrying the Olympic torch for the 1996 games. And who could forget interviewing Matthew McConaughey!! (See photo below)
Among the highlights in my personal life are my wonderful husband, my hero-mom, my friends (both here and back home) and my two dogs.
