Blayne Alexander is a multimedia journalist with 11Alive, where she shoots, edits and reports her own stories. In March of 2011, Blayne made her way to the "Big A" from the "Little A" - Augusta, GA - where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WRDW-TV for more than a year.

While in Augusta, Blayne covered a wide range of stories as a general assignment reporter, but focused on education. Her interest in Richmond County schools extended beyond reporting; Blayne was active in the Augusta community and especially enjoyed volunteering and working with students.

Blayne began her television career with NBC News Washington, where she worked as a production assistant for NBC Nightly News. During her time in Washington, Blayne field produced at the White House and on Capitol Hill and produced stories for msnbc.com. Blayne was also front and center for the historic election of President Barack Obama, and helped coordinate pool coverage of the inauguration for the five major broadcasting networks.

In her free time, Blayne enjoys running, catching up on reading, taking pictures around Atlanta and getting involved in the community any way she can. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Junior League of Atlanta and serves on the board of directors for The Scholarship Academy, which helps low-income college students gain access to financial aid. Blayne is also an active member of Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Black Journalists.

A proud product of the southwest, Blayne was born and raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Duke University with a degree in English.

She would love to hear from you! You can connect with Blayne on Facebook, follow her on Twitter or send her an email: balexander@11alive.com.
