A Midtown Atlanta store is hoping consumers will re-use laundry detergent, dish soap and spray cleaner bottles.
Eco Denizen sells laundry detergent and house hold cleaners from large dispensers. Customers can bring their own containers or buy inexpensive ones inside the store. "It really brings a smile to our face when customers walk in the door with a famous maker brand bottle," said owner Gene Cox, who opened the store with his wife in June. The products are sold by weight.
Cox says his line of cleaning products is superconcentrated and at .12 an ounce the laundry detergent costs around 20 percent less than other all natural products. "You're looking at paraben free, biodegradable, vegan, septic safe products, said Cox. He also carries glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner and dishwashing detergent.
Eco Denizen carries several lines of all natural personal care products as well as gifts. They also have a small architecture firm which specializes in environmentally conscious kitchen and bath design.
Cox said he sells the cleaning products and containers at cost in hopes that customers will also patronize the gift shop and kitchen and bath design services.
Eco Denizen is located at 999 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. It is closed on Mondays.
