Emergency repair made at the Paper Mill Road Bridge
Ten days ago, the Paper Mill Road Bridge over Sope Creek in Cobb County was shut down to traffic due to an emergency repair. Engineers discovered a large hole at the base of a critical support column caused by raging flood water after a 100 year storm back in July. Hours later, crews were on scene working to shore up the column. They worked for 42-straight hours in order to re-open the bridge for Monday morning traffic.
