A-frame for Skyview Atlanta, city's new ferris wheel.
ATLANTA -- Construction is moving forward on Skyview Atlanta, a 20-story ferris wheel being built downtown in a parking lot across from Centennial Olympic Park.
Operators were hoping to launch during the Fourth of July weekend, but schedules were pushed back due to construction and weather delays.
The 200-foot observation wheel will cost close to $15 for adults and $9 for kids. The ride will last about 15-minutes and encompass four full revolutions.
Over the weekend, crews erected the steel A-frame. The next step is construction of the wheel itself.
This same ferris wheel previously stood next to the Louvre in Paris. The Atlanta site is on Luckie Street next to The Tabernacle. For the past year, it was temporarily operating in Pensacola, Florida.
