LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Police now believe that skeletal remains found in Lawrenceville on Sunday belong to a woman between 19-22 years old.

Gwinnett County Police said residents in north Lawrenceville reported finding the skeletal remains around 1 p.m. Police said the woman had probably been dead for about three months.

The Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene. After documenting the scene and recovering the remains, they are now treating this incident as a suspicious death investigation.

According to Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department, the remains are believed to be from a black female, between 19 and 22-years-old. Police think she's between 5'8 and 6 feet tall and she was found wearing a t-shirt that looks to be from a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial function in 2008.

Gwinnett Police detectives ask that anyone with information contact them at (770) 513-5300.
