LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Gwinnett County Police officers are on the scene of a Wells Fargo Bank robbery that happened Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. on Lawrenceville Highway.
Corporal Jake Smith of the GCPD said two black males held up the bank at gunpoint, one had a handgun, the other had a shotgun. They drove away from the bank with an unknown amount of money.
Shortly after, officers found the vehicle not far from the Wells Fargo, and a brief chase began. The suspects abandoned the vehicle, make, model and year unknown, and ran into a wooded area near Herrington Road and Cruse Road.
Offers searched for the suspects, but did not locate them. However, they did recover the guns used during the crime.
