Flood Watch in Effect
The nothern section of the state is under a flood watch through tomorrow morning for 1-3" of rain we cold see over the next 36-48 hours! This stalled out front that has cut the state in half will be the primary focus for rain, causing area of moderate to heavy rain to fall over the same location over and over. This is different than a flash flood watch in the sense that the rain will not be falling fast enough to create flash flooding, just minor flooding in some creeks and rivers.
Interesting Scenario Thursday
There is a system that will be riding up in this direction from the SW that could have enough cold air aloft with ity to produce a few flakes of snow in the WNW N Georgia mountains on Thursday. I really don't think we will be seeing any in the metro area, but if that chages I will let you know.
Winter Returns Next Week!
Ok, so for the rest of this week we will see temps getting back to where they should be, we will be in the 50's after Tuesday as we head into the weekend. It is next week that I have been watching where we cold get a cold hard taste of winter as some mighty cold air from Canada will be coming down in this directikon! It appears that next Tuesday - Thursday could be the coldest air of the season with highs in the 30's possible!!
