Chris Hopper is a multi-media journalist who joined 11Alive News in April 2015 by way of Tampa, Florida.
Throughout his career, Chris has continued to grow as a "one man band reporter." The Associated Press of Florida awarded Chris as one of the top MMJ's in the state in 2013.
Chris began his career in Louisville, Kentucky working at a small independent cable station providing news for Southern Indiana Hoosiers who lived in the market. From there Chris went on to work as a Reporter and Anchor at WANE-TV News Channel 15 in Fort Wayne, Indiana uncovering injustices within the education system in Indiana's second largest city.
Chris spent four years as a multimedia journalist and reporter at Bay News 9 in the Tampa Bay market.
Chris has been on quite a journey in his young career, rubbing elbows with Presidents, covering snow storms, tropical storms, and protests at the 2012 Republican National Convention. His stories have aired on networks all over the world including CNN and BBC.
Chris is a journalist who has a true passion for telling a great story. Whether it's featuring a couple who once starred on stage still playing music together in their living room at 90-years-old or holding the powerful accountable for viewers, Chris puts his heart and soul into his job.
Chris was born and raised in Northern Indiana in the Chicago television news market. He is a proud graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Communications.
When Chris is not holding the powerful accountable, he is spending time with his young daughter Sydney and wife Jackie. The three love to spend time outside, enjoying great coffee, and an exciting new restaurant. Chris is a sports fan at heart, and he looks forward to embracing the local teams here in Atlanta.
Most of all, he's looking forward to serving the viewer's here in one of America's greatest and most exciting cities.
