Georgia Tech to play in TaxSlayer Bowl

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will face the Kentucky Wildcats in the TaxSlayer Bowl at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

Georgia Tech (8-4) returns to a bowl game after missing out last season. Before that, they had been to 18 consecutive bowl games. 

The Yellow Jackets won five of their final six games of the season, including a comeback win against the in-state rival Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium.

Georgia Tech is 24-19 all-time in bowl games.

Kentucky has not played in a bowl game since 2010, and the Wildcats have not won a bowl game since 2008. Kentucky (7-5) finished the regular season with an upset victory against the Louisville Cardinals. 

The TaxSlayer Bowl is Dec. 31 at 11 a.m.
