Chris Buchanan is a second generation newspaper editor who moved over to broadcast news as a digital executive producer in 2014 at WJCL-TV in Savannah before coming to 11Alive News as a digital producer in 2015.

He grew up in a newsroom and spent much of his time helping out with coverage in his family's newspaper and others around the southeast Georgia region before college.

After high school, Buchanan received his bachelors degree in journalism from Georgia Southern University where he also served as the managing editor of the award-winning George-Anne student newspaper.

He took over the reins of the Brantley Enterprise - a small weekly newspaper - in 2010 as editor-in-chief.

But he was also heavily involved in government, investigative, education and feature coverage around the county. He became such a familiar face in the community that he was eventually being named the county's Chamber of Commerce president.

In his time working in various journalistic professions he has received numerous awards for editorial content, photography, design and news coverage.

He now hopes to focus his skills on the vastly expanding digital medium to find new and better ways to deliver interesting - and important - content to the metropolitan Atlanta and north Georgia regions.
