ATLANTA -- The Grammy award-winning music icon Neil Diamond is coming to Atlanta.

Live Nation announced on Wednesday that the famous singer will be stopping through the city on April 30, 2017 as part of "The 50 Year Anniversary World Tour."

Tickets go on sale Dec. 9 for the tour which spans 39 cities across the U.S. The Atlanta stop will be at Philips Arena.

However, American Express card members can purchase tickets for the tour before the general public beginning Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, Dec. 8.

“Neil Diamond is more than just a music icon. His singular artistry and talent has left an indelible mark on American culture and has helped shape the sound of popular music for five decades,” Live Nation Entertainment President and CEO Michael Rapino said in a written release.

Organizers said Diamond has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and has charted 37 Top 40 singles. He's also had 16 albums in the Top 10 in the U.S. and internationally.
