SENOIA, Ga. -- It looks like hit-television series "The Walking Dead" is here to stay in Georgia.

According to 11Alive's partners at the Atlanta Business Chronicle, AMC purchased the Riverwood Studios in Senoia, where the series has been filming since 2011.

AMC reportedly paid more than $8 million to Kudzu Productions for the 80,000 square foot space on July 19.

Since moving production to Senoia, "The Walking Dead" has played a huge role in reviving the south metro city. Ten years ago, there were only five business on Main Street. Flash forward 17 years, and the number of businesses has climbed to more than 50.
