The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta connects philanthropists with local initiatives while at the same time managing their wealth and investing in efforts to make Atlanta a better place.

Nearly $100 million a year is donated to the Foundation, often from a mix of individuals, other foundations and family estates.

The organization recently launched its own fundraising initiative with the goal to acquire $1.6 billion in assets by the end of 2018.

Alicia Philipp has led the Foundation for almost 30-years. It was a $7 million a year operation when she took over the reins in 1977. Today, it controls just under a billion dollars in assets.
