For the weekend! "Shaft" and "Miracle Workers" are in town for re-shoots.

Shaft- This latest reboot of the early '70's detective classic features Samuel Jackson. It's due in theaters in June of 2019.

Miracle Workers- This star-filled TBS series features Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Steve Buscemi (Fargo, The Big Lewbowski, Boardwalk Empire). The comedy centers around two angels attempt to convince God to change his mind about destroying the earth by pulling of the miracle of helping a couple fall in love. There's no air date for this one yet.

Further down you'll see we've had some IF sign sightings but we haven't seen any casting calls for Instant Family so we're still trying to figure out if those signs are being used for another production.

Share your production signs with the A-Scene! Thanks Joe Powers for getting us Tyson's Run!
The people with Tyson's Run gave the A-Scene amazing access! Be sure to share your celebrity pics and sign spottings.

FCE- Tyson's Run is one of several movies wrapping up. The final big scene was scheduled last week. It's about an autistic boy's (portrayed by Major Dodson of "The Walking Dead") attempt to re-connect with his father by training for a marathon. One of the production team members posted a photo with "It's a wrap!" so it looks like filming is finished.

Follow the A-Scene for in depth, behind-the-scenes access to Atlanta entertainment.

"Tyson's Run" also shot at Pope High School in Marietta several weeks ago and invited the A-Scene to tag along! Here's an incredible look at the behind the scenes work on the shoot at Pope, and interviews with the director and stars.

S&K- Melissa McCarthy's "Super Intelligence" is scheduled to wrap up shooting next week. Our Facebook follower Kineka York-Weeks caught this photo of an S&K sign in early July. In the movie, McCarthy plays a woman whose life is turned upside down when she is selected for observation by the world's first superintelligence - a form of artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world. Casting calls are out for the final scenes, but one of our followers shared production orders showing it will be shooting at least through August 24.

Share your production signs with the A-Scene! Roneeka Behagen Williams got us the photo from Little with Isa Rae.

It's about a woman who gets to re-live her childhood right at a time adulthood is beginning to overwhelm her. "Night School" staring Kevin Hart also used this production sign, but that movie is about to hit theaters on September 28. Both productions involved Will Packer Productions so that may explain the sign overlap.

Sun Springs - This is the code for the movie "Poms". Diane Keaton and Jackie Weaver will star in this unique twist on a cheerleading flick. WTM - This is the code for Catherine Zeta-Jones production "Queen America". It is about a ruthless pageant coach who meets her match when she is paired with the beautiful, yet unrefined Samantha. They stared off this week shooting a hospital scene in Atlanta, and they’ll be filming in a bar in Atlanta on Friday. The show will air on Facebook Watch, and is an important part of the social media giant's move into video.

The IFC comedy, “Brockmire” also used “WTM” when it filmed in Macon and Metro Atlanta for Season One and Two. The Season Two finale just aired last week, and it already has the green light for a third and fourth season. If you start seeing tons of “WTM” production signs, it could be either show filming. “Brockmire” stars Hank Azaria as a Major League Baseball announcer who has a meltdown on air after he discovers his wife cheating on him.

Share your production signs with the A-Scene! Matt Long found this one for 2LS on Moores Mill Road!

2LS – This is the code for “Life-Size 2”, the follow up to the 2000 comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks. It's finally getting a sequel, although Lohan won’t be a part of the cast. IF – “Instant Family,” the comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, filmed under the code “IF” when it filmed here in the Spring. Although the movie wrapped up in late May, we’ve seen some reports of “IF” production signs popping back up around the city. It could be a new movie coming to town using a recycled sign, or it could be “Instant Family” doing some final re-shoots. “Instant Family” comes out in theaters on February 15th, 2019.

Share your sign photos with the A-Scene! Thanks for our Facebook Group member BradNAmy Forehand for sharing this one for "Never Too Late" AKA "Welcome To Pine Grove".

A lot of the shooting was centered at Blackhall Studios East for the past few weeks. They had shoots scheduled in Atlanta last week, but The Rock just unveiled a video from Hawaii of what he calls one of the largest sets ever made where part of the movie will shoot. We found their basecamp just around the block from the A-Scene HQ at Morningside Baptist Church earlier this month. HW – We’ve seen some blue “HW” production signs around Atlanta recently. Although we haven’t confirmed what production is shooting under the code, we do have a hunch. “Step Up: High Water” is the sixth installment in the “Step Up” franchise and is back shooting for its second season in Georgia. We believe “HW” could stand for ‘High Water’ and the blue background could represent the ‘Water’ part. If you see any “HW” production signs around town or work on the production, share a picture with us to help confirm! One of our A-Scene Insiders spotted a “HW” sign off of E Confederate Ave. and Moreland Ave. late last week. They’re filming a scene inside of a “Gentleman’s Club” next Monday.

Goodbye Stranger – The film, which will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios, will be filming in Savannah until November. They had an open casting call for the movie this past weekend at the Savannah Civic Center.

LOC- This is for "Black Lightning", the CW superhero series based on the DC comic of the same name. They often shoot in Decatur where a lot of the scenes for “Garfield High” were shot in a local school.

CP– A new Comedy Central pilot called “Robbie” is about to start filming in ATL and they’re casting for a ton of roles! They shot in Douglasville and Atlanta last week. Thanks for sharing Shujuan Hill Shannon!

Doom Patrol – “Doom Patrol” is one of five original series that will be debuted on “DC Universe,” the new streaming platform that is dedicated solely to DC Comics TV shows. It’s a spinoff of “Titans,” another series that will be on “DC Universe.” The show follows a group of outcast super heroes and an idealistic mad scientist as they investigate and protect Earth from strange phenomena. So far, we’ve seen casting calls for “Doom Patrol” calling for extras in Lawrenceville, Conyers, Loganville and multiple in Lithonia.

Emperor – The Civil War-era historical drama has been shooting in Savannah for a few weeks and they’re set stay there until the end of July. It stars Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) and Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games).

Doctor Sleep – Stephen King’s sequel to “The Shining” is expected to start shooting in Atlanta in September. It continues the story with grown-up Danny Torrance, still dealing with the harrowing aftermath of what went down at the Overlook Hotel in “The Shining.” Mike Flanagan has been tapped to direct the film. He already has experience adapting Stephen King novels into film, as he directed “Gerald’s Game” for Netflix last year.

The Righteous Gemstones- This is a televangelist comedy starring John Goodman and Danny McBride. It's shooting in Charleston but enough of our A-Scene followers travel that way that we've been getting questions about what's shooting there.

Divorce Court- We're seeing some casting calls for this one for studio audience members. It's shooting at Tyler Perry Studios so we're not sure if there will be any production signs around.

We need your help!
