Don't know what to get mom for Mother's Day this year? Get her a pet!
Okay, okay. I know what you're thinking. "Puppies and kittens are expensive." "I need to save money." "Maybe I'll just make her a card."
All of those reasons are valid, but I have a great deal for you that might change your mind about adopting a pet this weekend.
DeKalb County Animal Services, managed by Lifeline Animal Project, is waiving all adoption fees on all of their pets for Mother's Day weekend.
This includes all vaccinations, spaying, neutering, etc. The deal applies for both the Dekalb and Fulton County Animal Services shelters.
You could go home with a floofer, furbaby, snuggley wuggley, like, today.
According to the shelter's public relations director, Karen Hirsch, there are over 1,000 animals at the shelter that are ready to be adopted.
That's a lot of cats and dogs. You only have three days to take one of these beautiful babies home to mom.
