Sad update reported in search for emotional support dog lost in wreck

Bear the yellow-lab mix went missing on I-85 after a wreck.

BRASELTON, Ga. — An animal rescue group has released a heartbreaking update in the search for an emotional support dog who went missing after a wreck on I-85.

Bear, a 10-month-old yellow-lab mix has been found dead after an extensive 3-hour search near Braselton on Saturday, Two Tailz Rescue posted on Saturday.

Carolyn O’Brien, a member of Two Tailz Rescue organization, said Bear and his owner were traveling from North Carolina to Atlanta when the car hydroplaned on I-85 south near exit 126 in the Braselton area.

According to O’Brien, the dog was hit by the airbag and thrown to the backseat, and then he took off from there.

O'Brien said more than 30 people showed up to help in the search.
