Atlanta nonprofits get hundreds of helping hands on Tuesday

Several local nonprofits received more than 400 additional helping hands on Tuesday.

ATLANTA – Several local nonprofits received more than 400 additional helping hands on Tuesday.

Voya Financial staffers participated in the company’s National Day of Service. The company offered paid time off for employees who do volunteer service in their communities.

Some of the nonprofits served by the company’s staff were the Atlanta Community Food Bank; Covenant House; Cristo Rey; Atlanta Habitat for Humanity; Atlanta Junior Achievement; Project Open Hand; Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; Kate’s Club; Best Friends Animal Society; Project Rescue; and Feeding Children Everywhere.

Employees choose their locations from a range of activities geared toward their individual passions and interests. Other Atlanta service locations include Cristo Rey, Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity and several pet shelters.
