ATLANTA -- Getting from here to there continues to be an urgent need for seniors.
As the senior population dramatically increases from its current level of 1.3 million in Metro Atlanta and as baby boomers continue to age, the need for better transportation becomes a high priority.
Intensive efforts are now underway to improve transportation options, including a tax referendum in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta that will include, among other priorities, the ability to offer better transportation opportunities for seniors.
As these efforts proceed, take a moment to offer your services to get seniors to urgent medical appointments and physical therapy; to supermarkets for weekly shopping; and to senior centers and libraries.
Contact the Georgia ADRC Helpline at 1-866-532-4464 for more information on senior transportation.
