Elf on the Shelf causing mayhem for Georgia law enforcement

As the temperatures start to dip the holiday elves come out to play.

Throughout thousands of homes in Georgia, families are greeted by their friendly Elf on a Shelf. But the elves aren’t just for the home, they’ve even made their way to various law enforcement offices across the state.

In Oconee County, Barney the Elf recently took his oath of office. Barney apparently grew up on the mean streets of the frozen arctic and has a career of mucking out reindeer stalls. I’m not sure how many reindeer stalls there are in Oconee County, but I’m sure Sheriff Scott Berry will put Barney to work.

One elf who hit the ground running with mischief is Gainesville Police Department’s Elf, Alfred. He was sworn in for another season of ‘giving and charm’ on December 5, but already he’s done more harm than good. On Wednesday, he brought ‘snow’ to the station filling one of the sergeant’s offices with Styrofoam peanuts.

Over in Wilkes County at Emergency Services, Elfis the Elf has been causing some trouble as well. On Wednesday, his coworkers came in to find he had tee-peed their Christmas tree! Who knows what he’ll do next.

While Elfis might be a troublemaker, Bibb County’s Elf is a hard worker. Deputy Jingle Elf has been seen filling out reports inside the Bibb County Jail while also teaching a Crisis Intervention Class. Now, he isn’t all work and no play. Jingle has a few good jokes up his sleeve like this fan favorite, “What do you call Father Christmas at the beach? Sandy Clause!”

But Jingle isn’t alone, Bibb County also has deputy Diva Elf who was seen driving in the Christmas Parade last weekend. You’ll want to keep an eye out for her!
