ATLANTA -- Three tornadoes in the metro Atlanta area were confirmed by radar on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Radar confirmed tornadoes in Paulding, Carroll and DeKalb-Fulton counties, including one that passed over Buckhead. (Click here to watch swirling debris in Buckhead). Those tornadoes will have to be officially confirmed by site surveys.

The system also produced strong storms that prompted several several thunderstorm warnings.

Flights were temporarily delayed at the world's busiest airport shortly after a tornado touched down, according to the Associated Preess. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport spokesman Reese McCranie says flights were delayed for about 15 minutes Wednesday, before allowing them to depart.

In Cobb County, damage was reported in Mableton, where a roof of a building was blown off, powerlines were knocked down and a gas leak was reported. (See more on Cobb damage)

A tornado watch remained in effect until 6 p.m. in the following counties: Banks, Barrow, Butts, Chattahoochee, Clarke, Crawford, Henry, Jackson, Jasper, Lamar, Macon, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Morgan, Muscogee, Newton, Oconee, Pike, Rockdale, Schley, Spalding, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, Upson, Walton, Webster
