ATLANTA – In the midst of an upcoming winter blast, Atlanta’s favorite parody page has done it again.

The city of Atlanta is gearing up for a wintry mix over the weekend and the Facebook parody page ‘City of Atlanta’ took full advantage of it.

“State of emergency declared. We are expecting up to one inch of snow on Friday,” the Facebook post reads. “Please stay at home and declare yourself safe on Facebook. This is a warning.”

The post gained over 3,500 shares within an hour of being posted. While many people who follow the page know it is satirical, at first glance, other Facebookers might not get the joke and think it’s the city’s official page.

To set the record straight: No, Atlanta is not in a state of emergency and no, we are not expecting up to an inch of snow. 11Alive StormTrackers predicts some light rain mixing with snow flurries on Friday but at this point, they do not expect any travel issues.

So, go forth ATLiens and enjoy the cold weather heading our way this weekend. After all, this weather is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
