The young boy who died after being shot during a shooting at a South Carolina elementary school will be laid to rest at a superhero-themed funeral this week.

The family of 6-year-old Jacob Hall said the funeral will be held this Wednesday, just one week after he was shot while at recess at Townville Elementary.

Hall's family said the pallbearers will all dress as superheroes, and the people who attend are also encouraged to wear costumes.

Authorities say the 14-year-old gunman is facing murder charges after the 6-year-olds death. The teen is also accused of killing his father before heading to the school and opening fire, hitting Hall, a teacher and another student.
