LITHONIA, Ga. — Police are investigating after a 10-year-old girl was shot while she slept Wednesday evening.
At 9:36 p.m., officers responded to a person shot at an apartment complex located on the 2600 block of Embarcadero Boulevard.
The girl was sleeping in her room when an unknown suspect fired several rounds into the building from the outside.
The shots wen through the window and struck the 10-year-old and caused only minor injuries. No one else was harmed in the incident.
She was transported to the hospital in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing.
No suspects or arrests have been made and police say there was no motive for the shooting at this time.
