NORCROSS - Police arrested a Snellville man this afternoon for murder in an early morning shooting in Norcross.
Norcross police told 11Alive News they charged 55-year-old Nooruddin Merchant for the murder of 62-year-old Kanakkumar Vyas of Gwinnett County. Vyas' body was found around 1 a.m. at the Global Mall, 5675 Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner said the autopsy showed Vyas was shot in the neck. His death has been a homicide.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to take over the investigation. So far, police have not released a motive for the killing.
