Arrest warrant leads to 5.5 pounds of pot, potent BHO oil in north Ga.

A Georgia man is under arrest for setting up shop to sell several thousand dollars worth of marijuana and potent marijuana oils.

According to information released by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), 35-year-old Nikki Nelson Allen was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Schedule I substance, Butane Honey Oil (BHO), with intent to distribute.

The new charges came after authorities serving an arrest warrant for marijuana distribution smelled pot as they were arriving at 51 Kensington Court in Commerce, Georgia.

The smell was probable cause for a search warrant which uncovered more proof of a distribution scheme. Inside, authorities found 5.5 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of BHO - a form of hash oil.

"The 'dabs' of oil can be vaporized and inhaled without the pungent smell of weed and produce a soaring high for even longtime cannabis smokers with a strong tolerance for the drug," a spokesperson for ARDEO said in a written statement.

Altogether, the marijuana and BHO had an estimated street value of more than $27,500. Jackson County authorities also seized nearly $7,500 from the location.

Allen was arrested and taken to Jackson County Detention Center. The arrest was part of a joint operation between ARDEO and the sheriff's offices in Jackson and Banks counties.
