Couple robbed while loading car on Howell Mill

Police are searching for two men who they say robbed a family at gun point at the end of July.

ATLANTA -- Police are searching for two men who they say robbed a family at gun point at the end of July.

According to a report filed with the Atlanta Police Department, the victim first walked out to place something in a rental car when he saw the two men smoking on the resident side of the parking garage at 930 Howell Mill Road.

They asked him if he had any pills and he responded no. He then placed items in his car and went back to his room for just shy of an hour before coming back out with his girlfriend, his hands loaded with bags. He placed them in the truck and was about to get in his car when he said a black male jumped out and ran up to him with a pistol in hand.

The victim said the man then said, "You know what time it is" before taking his cell phone, debit card and demanding the trunk be opened.

The suspect ultimately grabbed several bags out of the back and demanded the victim get in his vehicle. The armed man made one last pass by the victim's car with his gun out before jumping in the SUV, what appeared to be a Honda CRV, and speeding away on 9th Street. The getaway vehicle made a right on Howell Mill and wasn't seen again.

Police believe the suspect driving the vehicle was a black male who was about 5 feet 9 inches tall and in his early 20s. He was wearing a green shirt and dark pants. The armed suspect was also described as a black male who was wearing a black hoodie, red sweat pants with a white stripe. He appeared to be about the same height and age.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
