MACON, Ga. -- Authorities are investigating after a 7-year-old child in Macon was shot in the head.

The incident allegedly happened around 2:45 p.m. as 36-year-old Shatoya Jackson and 34-year-old Keonis Mann were sitting in a Honda Civic. At some point, a man came up to them and an argument began between Jackson and the man.

The man allegedly then pulled a gun and opened fire as Jackson fled in the car. One of the bullets hit the child, Edgerin Wallace, in the head. The child was taken to Coliseum Medical Center at first but was later moved to Medical Center Navicent Health in critical condition.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is now asking the public to help them find the man responsible. He was described as a medium-complexion black male who stands at about 6 feet tall and was wearing a green shirt and twists in his hair. Anyone with information on the shooter should call the Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500.
