Man accused of murdering 24-year-old over PlayStation turns himself in

Quantavious Poole had been wanted for killing Larry Stewart back on Dec. 1, over a PlayStation that Stewart was selling on the OfferUp app.

EAST POINT, Ga. — Police investigators said a search for a suspect in a 24-year-old's murder after he turned himself over to police, Tuesday.

Quantavious Poole had been wanted for killing Larry Stewart back on Dec. 1, over a PlayStation that Stewart was selling on the OfferUp app.

But what was supposed to just be a simple transaction turned deadly after investigators found Stewart shot in the chest an East Point apartment complex. First responders said he was bleeding heavily from the wound when they got there around 11:10 p.m. A short time after arriving, they pronounced Stewart dead at the scene.

Investigators were able to speak to a witness after the shooting who told police they walked out of their apartment on Kennelworth Drive to find Stewart and Poole standing in the stairwell. Poole spotted the witness and told them to go back inside.

While walking back toward their apartment, the witness told police they could hear Stewart plead "please don't" before hearing what sounded like gunshots.

The witness saw Poole run away to the front of the complex and they called 911.

After spending more than a month on the run, police said Poole finally turned himself over to police Jan. 21. Police said they contacted his mother the day before. The next day, Poole showed up with family to surrender.

He now is in custody.
