TUCKER, Ga. -- The search for the person of interest wanted in the strangulation death of a young woman is over.

DeKalb County Police have arrested 24-year-old Terique Hall, following an investigation into the strangulation death and rape of 20-year-old Ashley Mays.

On Nov. 18, Mays was discovered inside a room at a Quality Inn & Suites on Snapfinger Park Drive.

Police released stills from surveillance footage which captured images of a person of interest and a vehicle allegedly used to get away. Investigators eventually connected Hall to the woman's death and arrested him.

Hall has been charged with murder, rape and aggravated sodomy in connection to Mays' death.

He was also charged in a separate sexual assault case in Lithonia, Ga., from a week before.

He is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
