What appeared to be a late-night accident quickly spiraled out of control Saturday morning. Now a man is in the hospital with gunshot wounds and without his car.

According to Atlanta police, the victim was rear-ended in the area of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Murphy Avenue. That's when, according to what the man told police, he was confronted by several black males who jumped out of their car and shot him.

They then split up with some getting in his car and the others taking off with theirs. Police have not released a description of the suspect vehicle.

The victim's exact condition wasn't released, though police said he was taken to Grady and is stable despite apparently being shot more than once.
