LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Police are searching for a suspect who may be responsible for committing several car break-ins across multiple metro counties.
Gwinnett County Police Department detectives are asking for the public's help with identifying a suspect who has broken into several cars and stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards at local stores.
The break-ins have occurred at parks, libraries and medical facilities.
The dates of the incidents include:
- 12/29/2017: Cobb County Police Department
- 2/23/2018: Peachtree City Police Department
- 2/28/2018: Gwinnett County Police Department
- 3/1/2018: Dawson County Sheriff's Office
Once the suspect steals victims' credit cards, he takes them to grocery stores and purchases gift cards to keep his purchasing activity untraceable.
Police believe the suspect is traveling in a silver SUV and, in one case out of Dawson County, the suspect is seen with a woman now considered a person of interest.
The male suspect is seen wearing similar clothing in almost every case.
