ATLANTA - Police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery at a grocery store in the 1900 block of Joseph E. Boone early Thursday morning.
Police say that at 2:30 a.m. the store clerk was still at the business when he saw an individual approach the front door.
The clerk recognized the individual to be a regular customer, so he unlocked the front doors and allowed him to enter.
The regular came inside and then produced a gun.
The suspect then proceeded to tie up the store clerk and instructed him to open the cash register, emptying its contents.
The suspect was also able to make entry into the store office and took a large amount of cash from there as well.
Police believe the suspect fled on foot.
He is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years of age and had a short beard.
