A Roswell police sergeant arrested on domestic violence charges has been released on bond after a Cherokee County judge set it at $4,500, Friday.
The officer was also ordered to stay away from his family but was not ordered to give up his gun.
According to a statement from the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Chad Harris after responding to a report of a domestic dispute on Thanksgiving Day.
Harris was charged with simple battery/family violence, battery/family violence and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children.
Roswell Police said Harris has been placed on administrative leave with pay, while the department investigates the circumstances of his arrest.
