SMYRNA, Ga. -- Surveillance video from about 4 a.m. Monday shows a dark car with what appears to be a temporary tag.

The car is seen pulling up outside Kristen James Hair Studio on Atlanta Road SE in Smyrna. Then four people jump out of the car and walk up to the hair studio's front door.

A few seconds later they break in and a minute later one of them runs out.

Kristen James said the first person out is carrying the salon's Apple iMac computer they kept on the front desk.

She is surprised anyone would have broken-in to her shop.

"I never really thought they would want anything to do with a small boutique salon, but I guess the iMac was enough eye candy for them," James said.

James said she also found checks and other documents all over the floor, but the computer is the only thing missing.

During the burglary the store's alarm went off and James said police arrived within 6 minutes.

Since Monday, she has installed a new lock and is installing more security measures.

The security footage then shows the group walk up to Marshmallow Dream, a gift shop next door.

The group can be seen banging on the front of the store and kicking the door. They leave without entering the gift shop.

Pictures the store's owner took Monday morning though show the door's glass completely shattered.

A Cobb County sergeant, Wednesday, confirmed his department is investigating several burglaries with a similar "method of operation" in unincorporated Cobb County.

James hopes someone with information will now come forward and help solve her burglary and possibly others.

"I felt like I needed to do something since we had video footage," she said. "That the best thing to do was to get it out there publicly."

Anyone with information is asked to call Cobb County police at 770-499-3911.
