Critically injured man's identity a mystery to police. Now they need your help

The accident happened on Wednesday night near the area of Highway 85 and Garden Walk Boulevard in Clayton County.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Police are asking the public to help identify a man who was hit by a vehicle in Clayton County, Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson with the Clayton County Police Department, officers responded to the area of Highway 85 near Garden Walk Boulevard around 9:50 p.m.

Officers found the man lying in the roadway with injuries. Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services responded and took the man to the Atlanta Medical Center. Police said the driver stayed at the scene and will not face any charges.

Officers went to the hospital to check the victim's condition and to identify him but soon found that the man was not carrying any identification. And, due to his injuries, he was unable to communicate with the officers.

The Clayton County Police Department said it has exhausted all means to identify the victim and is Asking the public for help.

The victim is described as a black male with a dark complexion who was wearing all black. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has low-cut salt and pepper-colored hair with a bald spot and a salt and pepper colored beard. Police said he appears between 50 and 60 years in age.

Police said he was walking in the left turn lane on the southbound side of Highway 85 - the entrance to the Laurel Park Apartments at 5758 Hwy. 85. So police believe he may live nearby in the area.
