ATLANTA -- Demolition crews will soon be taking a second crack at demolishing the Georgia Dome - but it will be a bit earlier in the morning this time.
Crews will be taking down the remaining wall on Dec. 20 at 1 a.m. and the move will directly impact traffic and transit routes at that time of the morning.

Traffic will be suspended on the portion of Northside Drive near the late stadium and rerouted at Ivan Allen and Martin Luther King boulevards.
MARTA rail service from Five Points to Vine City will also be suspended at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 with bus shuttle service available as an alternative. Meanwhile, around the remains of the dome will be a 450-foot safety zone.
The big difference for this second attempt at the demolition will be that there are no public or media viewing areas. So those who intend to watch the early morning event will be on their own.
It all comes a month after the demolition of the rest of the Georgia Dome on Nov. 21. As the smoke and dust cleared that day, it became clear that at least one part of the structure hadn't come down as planned.
