Just as students in suburban Montgomery County, Maryland did on Monday, high school students in the Nation's Capitol walked out of class on Tuesday, and marched, en masse, down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the US Capitol building in protest of the election of Donald Trump.

The student-organized protest began around noon on Tuesday. The students gathered around the Trump International Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in northwest DC, and could be heard chanting, 'Not our president.'

Reporters from 11Alive's Washington sister station WUSA, say the students are moving toward Capitol Hill. They say the majority of the students appear to be from DC Public Schools, but say some have come from Montgomery County Public Schools.
