ATLANTA -- Excitement continues to grow as the date for the upcoming solar eclipse quickly approaches.

A group called STAR_Net is giving away free eclipse glasses at libraries nationwide, including many locations right here in north Georgia.

11Alive compiled a few of those libraries in the metro area and more, so eclipse-goers can easily find a location near them.

STAR_Net, part of a partnership with the National Center for Interactive Learning, the American Library Association and other groups, has handed out nearly 2 million free eclipse glasses and thousands of education kits across the nation.

The glasses are a necessary part of viewing the solar eclipse, as they will protect your eyes from permanent damage.
