FBI: Crew of armed robbers strike 10 times in two weeks

Police said they've worn similar clothing in several of the alleged robberies, including one member who's worn a "been broke before" sweatshirt multiple times.

ATLANTA — The FBI says a crew of armed robbers is responsible for eight violent robberies in just two weeks, and they're on the hunt for the suspects.

According to the agency, the crew of at least three men has physically assaulted store employees, forced them to the ground, pointed weapons and even fired at the employees.

The crew hit several local businesses across the metro area, including some in Union City, Decatur, East Point, Chamblee and Sandy Springs. They did all this, authorities said, between Jan. 8 and Jan. 23.

  • Jan. 8, 2018: Family Dollar at 4960 Roosevelt Highway, Union City, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by three unidentified men.
  • Jan. 12, 2018: Family Dollar at 3985 Flat Shoals Road, Union City, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by at least two men.
  • Jan. 14, 2018: Family Dollar at 1163 West Avenue, Conyers, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by two men.
  • Jan. 18, 2018: Waffle House at 766 DeKalb Industrial Way, Decatur, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by one man.
  • Jan. 18, 2018: Waffle House at 4274 Lavista Road, Tucker, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by a lone man.

  • Jan. 23, 2018: Walgreens at 7530 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Georgia, was robbed at gunpoint by three men.

Authorities are looking to track down the crew, who they said have worn similar clothing in several of the alleged robberies, including one member's sweatshirt that reads "been broke before." A suspect wearing the same sweatshirt was also involved in an armed robbery at an Acworth Waffle House last week.

If anyone has information about the robberies, they're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
