BOCA RATON, Fl. (NBC) – A Florida woman gave birth in a hospital parking lot, and the hospital charged her for the full delivery room fee.

Paula D’Amore were rushing to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, and the baby girl was crowning as the D’Amore and her husband drove up to the hospital’s parking lot.

D’Amore’s husband caught the baby’s head, and nurses ran out to help with the rest of the delivery, which took place in the fire lane.

Now the family has a $7,000 hospital bill for the full cost of the delivery room. D’Amore told NBC the delivery charge is “a little outrageous.”

"They are basically saying that everything was billed appropriately,” D’Amore told NBC.

A hospital spokesperson said the hospital administration had no comment.
