Home Depot brings water, supplies to hospice center impacted by main break

The 11Alive Help Desk aided in getting the solution into motion

ATLANTA -- 11Alive's Help Desk has helped solve a big problem for a local hospice center in the midst of a water crisis.

With a few calls, 11Alive's Bill Liss and the Help Desk got in contact with Atlanta-based Home Depot who will be providing water to Atlanta Hospice Center on Lenox Road. The hardware store chain immediately dispatched a group of volunteers with water and other supplies to help the organization make it through the water emergency.

The move comes after a massive water main break left the hospice center - and a large portion of DeKalb County - without water. After awaiting the proper equipment, repairs have finally begun near Buford Highway and water restoration will eventually follow.

However, even after water successfully begins flowing again, a boil water advisory will remain in effect until authorities can test samples and declare it safe for use.
