GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Residents of an apartment building in Gwinnett County will have to find another place to stay, at least for now, after a large downed tree caused serious enough damage to the structure on Saturday.

The tree fell in the 3200 block of WIndscape Village NW between Norcross and Lilburn around 4 p.m. When crews arrived, they found that the tree had caused roof damage and actually punctured the sheetrock of two top floor apartments.

Fire crews determined that only the four units on the left side of the apartment were unsafe to re-enter but because power had to be cut to the building, all eight apartments were evacuated. Fire officials said the scene was turned over to maintenance personnel and a private tree company. At this point, those who were displaced are being relocated by the apartment complex's management.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
