DALLAS, Ga. – At least 12 people were taken to a nearby hospital after a school bus crashed into a pick-up truck carrying two people Friday morning.

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Nathan Dean Boulevard and Merchants Drive in Dallas.

According to Georgia State Patrol, there were 10 children inside the bus. They were treated for minor injuries. The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital and later released.

The driver of the truck and a passenger were injured and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

The daycare bus has the name Paulding Preparatory Academy on its front. When reached for comment, Paulding Preparatory said their Director would be in shortly and would brief the media at that time.

The pick-up truck involved has Lee's Tree Service on the side. When reached by phone, the business would not comment at that time.

Paulding County Sgt. Ashley Henson said the Georgia State Patrol and the sheriff's office are working the investigation to determine what caused the crash.
