ATLANTA -- If you're looking for your first place to call home in the ATL, you're looking in the right place.
Atlanta has found itself in the list of the Top 10 Markets for First-Time Homebuyers.
The list is based on five variables determined by real estate company Zillow: median home value, household-to-inventory ratio, forecasted home value appreciation, Breakeven Horizon and the share of listings with a price cut.
According to Zillow's data, most of the cities are from the South and Midwest regions of the U.S., and a 5 percent down payment in the Bay Area is larger than a 20 percent down payment in most of the best markets named on the list.
Atlanta came in at #7, ahead of cities like Detroit, Dallas and Cleveland. The home of Delta, Coca Cola and Chick-fil-A wasn't the only southern city to rank high on the list -- Orlando,Tampa and San Antonio also earned spots in the top 10.
