AUSTELL, Ga. -- An officer and three other motorists were injured, Saturday after an accident in Cobb County.

Officials told 11Alive that the accident happened around 9 p.m. on Austell Road and Anderson Mill Road.

A police spokesperson said officers were responding to a call of an armed robbery when the accident happened.

Police said the officers were heading south and another vehicle north. That's when police said the other vehicle turned left in front of two police cars.

One of the police cars then slammed into the side of the passenger vehicle leaving the officer with a knee injury and two passengers with face injuries.

A third passenger also suffered a broken arm.
