DECATUR, Ga. -- Authorities are warning parents to avoid heading to homes where registered sex offenders live on Halloween night.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement officials ramp up surveillance of those who might pose a threat to children during the Halloween season.

In some counties in Georgia, sex offenders are required to spend the evening on Halloween in jail.

Parents can find out where sex offenders live by going on the GBI Website and entering an address or zip code. The site will generate a list of sex offenders in the area. Click here for more:
