GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Police are investigating after a school bus that carries special education students and another vehicle were involved in an accident early Monday evening.

According to officials, a car hit the bus in the side at the intersection of Taylor School Drive and Buford Drive, causing a minor entrapment for the driver. Crews were able to free her and transported her to the hospital with minor injuries.

Four students and two adults were on board the bus at the time of the accident. Officials said one of the students suffered a minor injury but was treated and released at the scene. No one else on board was injured.

Both vehicles have since been towed from the scene and Buford Drive is open to traffic.

So far, police have not released the cause of the accident and whether the driver will be charged.
